Vintage optimist/pessimist flask.
Is it 1/2 full or 1/2 empty? This small glass flask measures about
5" x 3" and the small viewing window in the leather cover answers
the question! Perfect gift with a tongue in cheek message. Silver plated
top shows a couple of dimples which only add to the character of
the piece. Some minor wear on the leather but all in all a unique
piece for use or display.

G.&J.W. Hawksley whiskey flask.
This Civil War period pewter flask is identified with two makers marks,
one on the top of the screw on lid and the other inside the removable
cup. This style of flask was often reserved for use by officers,
offering modest comfort when the elements taxed the soul. This flask
is slightly marred from use but the cup removes easily as
does the screw top. A slight nick in the rim of the top does not
detract from its appearance or usage.
